Oklahoma ranks sixth in the United States for total megawatts (MW) installed and seventh for the number of utility-scale wind turbines installed. There are 29 wind projects online in Oklahoma currently providing 14.8% of Oklahoma’s electricity.

The Commissioners of the Land Office is currently a part of eight wind turbine projects with nine long-term commercial leases that will provide annual income to the Land Office beneficiaries for many years to come.

Long-term commercial leases for wind turbine development can be obtained through the  long-term commercial leasing process.
